Statement from Mohammad Sediq Hazratzai, Executive Director, Center for Immigrant and Refugee Health (CIRH)

Dear community and partners,

As a nonpartisan organization, our commitment transcends politics and elections and remains bold and unwavering to the communities we serve.

Working alongside local, state, and federal partners, we strive to empower individuals, promote equity, and enhance health outcomes for some of our most vulnerable populations. We aim to expand our national reach and foster new partnerships. This goal, established based on the needs of our community and through strategic intent, remains unchanged.

Our mission is rooted in the belief that all individuals, regardless of their country of origin or immigration status, deserve access to equitable healthcare resources, a safe environment, and respect for their culture and identity. We will continue to advocate for policies and practices that support these principles, drawing upon evidence-based research, community partnerships, and the resilience of those we serve.

In the coming months, we will closely monitor any policy or funding changes related to refugee admission, immigration, and healthcare while working diligently to provide our community with the necessary resources, information, and support. Our commitment to health equity is unwavering, and we remain open to dialogue with policymakers, organizations, and community leaders to ensure that the rights and well-being of immigrants and refugees are protected and upheld.

We stand together to uplift one another with resilience, empathy, and shared humanity. We look forward to continuing this vital work with all of you.
