Recap: Inclusive Education: Improving Academic Success and Promoting Wellness for Afghan and Ukrainian Refugee Students

Thank you so much for attending our inaugural conference on October 25, 2024!

Our inaugural event brought together representatives from school districts, community organizations, and refugee communities, in addition to important federal, state, and county agencies. We appreciate the open conversations, knowledge sharing, and partnership building we witnessed in sessions and during breaks. We feel that our work to support you in uplifting refugee children, their families, and communities was realized in this safe space where concerns and needs were front and center. It was a pleasure to connect with so many of you in person, and we look forward to upcoming opportunities to bring educational, government, and community leaders together.

Highlights of the Day

A student-led discussion capped a day of speakers and community leader panel discussions, many of which included representatives from our partnering organizations. Designed to offer practical tools and resources, each session addressed educational support for refugee students, mental health resources, and community-based wellness initiatives.
