Originally from Afghanistan, Zarmina has navigated the challenges of displacement and resettlement, ultimately becoming a dedicated paid Health Educator at CIRH. Starting as a client, Zarmina transitioned into a volunteer, sharing her lived experience and knowledge of her community. Today, in her role as a Refugee Health Navigator/Educator for CIRH’s Refugee Family Support First 5 of Sacramento Project, Zarmina is recognized for her unwavering commitment to advancing the quality of life in her community — a testament as to how CIRH can uplift and empower refugees resettling in the U.S.
