Esra manages multiple refugee health projects and designs and implements health education programs tailored to the cultural and linguistic needs of refugees. She works closely with community organizations, government agencies, and non-profits to create a network of support for refugees. Growing up in Sudan, she witnessed firsthand the unique health challenges faced by the community. Her immigrant experience has fostered resilience, resourcefulness, and a sense of empathy that she channels into her interactions with the diverse communities CIRH serves. Esra earned a medical degree in 2008 and a Master of Public Health with a reproductive health concentration in 2016 from Ahfad University for Women. She is a native Arabic speaker.
